Historia
Ubicada en [zona] del municipio de Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Hacienda San Cirilo fue fundada en el año de 1865 por el señor Don Cirilo Gómez Portugal, construida utilizando materiales novedosos para su época, su principal función y actividad productiva consistió en la producción de granos.
Hacía el año de 2014 comienza la etapa de reconstrucción de Hacienda San Cirilo, pues el pasar de los años tuvo un amplio impacto sobre las construcciones; la reconstrucción fue realizada utilizando materiales originales rescatados de las ruinas de la hacienda, teniendo como objetivo restaurar la imagen original de la misma y conservando el equilibrio existente entre las construcciones y el ecosistema que las rodea; la reconstrucción continua hoy en día.
Hoy en día Hacienda San Cirilo se ha convertido en un centro ecuestre que busca constantemente desarrollar a caballos y personas bajo la luz de la doma natural, promoviendo el respeto al caballo y la armonía con la naturaleza.
Hacienda San Cirilo es administrada por sus dueños, el señor Jorge Serrano y su esposa Lena Kissling, quienes encontraron en ésta el lugar perfecto para criar a su hijo y desarrollar su sueño de transmitir a otros sus conocimientos y amor por los caballos. Jorge, de nacionalidad mexicana, y Lena, de nacionalidad suiza, se conocieron en Casey, Wyoming donde Jorge trabajaba como vaquero trabajando el ganado y caballos de Willow Creek Ranch, y a donde Lena llegó a trabajar por recomendación de un amigo, debido al tipo de trabajo que allí se desarrollaba y para aplicar los conocimientos que a lo largo de su vida y su carrera profesional desarrolló en Suiza; rápidamente ambos se enamoraron y eventualmente decidieron continuar su vida en México de la mano de sus queridos caballos Panchito, Coronel y Juan Colorado. Jorge continua practicando el arte de ser vaquero y es un reconocido talabartero de la zona y Lena es competidora y entrenadora profesional de carreras de barriles, disciplina en la cual goza de varios títulos incluyendo el de bicampeona nacional.

History
Located in the municipality of Lagos de Moreno in the State of Jalisco, Hacienda San Cirilo was founded and built in the year of 1865 by Don Cirilo Gómez Portugal by using construction materials that were advanced in their time; originally its main economic activity consisted in the production of different kinds of grain.
The reconstruction phase of Hacienda San Cirilo started towards the year of 2014 as the passing of the previous years had an ample impact to the constructions; the reconstruction was made by using the original materials that were salvaged from the ruins of the hacienda, aiming at restoring it to its original state while preserving the existing equilibrium of the hacienda and the ecosystem around it; the reconstruction continues until today.
Nowadays Hacienda San Cirilo has become an equestrian center that is constantly searching to develop good horses and great riders using the natural horsemanship doctrine, promoting respect towards the horse and harmony with nature.
Hacienda San Cirilo is run by its owners, Mr. Jorge Serrano and his wife Lena Kissling, who found in this place the perfect place to raise their son and realize their dreams of transmitting to others their knowledge and love for horses. Jorge, being Mexican and Lena being Swiss met in Casey, Wyoming were Jorge worked as a vaquero working the cattle and horses of Willow Creek Ranch, and were Lena came to work for a summer in reference by a friend because of the work that was done there and to apply the knowledge that she had acquired over her own professional career; the fell rapidly in love and eventually decided to continue their life in Mexico along their dear horses Panchito, Coronel and Juan Colorado. Jorge continues to practice the art of being a real vaquero and is a renowned leather craftsman in Lagos de Moreno, Lena is a professional national level competitor and trainer in the barrel racing sport, discipline in which she holds various titles such as twice national champion.
